Research interests / activities

I am on a joint PhD program between the University of Adelaide and the University of Nottingham. I have a background in social sciences and am interested in the role of animals in alternative food systems. My PhD project explores alternative diets and multi-species feeding relations between dogs and humans. It seeks to understand the social and ethical aspects of decision-making around food and health by examining the values and practices of dog owners who feed their dogs raw meat-based diets, while themselves following a plant-based diet. This involved empirical fieldwork with dog guardians and their dogs in the UK and Australia.
