Research interests / activities

My research analyzes and historicizes the growth of and popular representations of the guide dog movement in the United States during the interwar period vis-à-vis cultural constructions of disability/ rehabilitation/ attitudes towards animals. My work attempts to bridge disability history and anthrozoology, as informed by the relationship between critical disability studies (CDS) and critical animal studies (CAS).
