Urban Hyenas

Marcus Baynes-Rock is conducting research on the relationship between spotted hyenas and people in the town of Harar, Ethiopia. This research follows the lives of individual hyenas as they eke out an existence in an urban environment with the help of a local family that feeds them each night in front of a Muslim shrine.
