Animal Emotions: do animals think and feel?

Marc Bekoff, Emeritus Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado and a well known Animal Protection proponent, writes a regular blog across a number of issues – from the latest research on animals’ creativity to the slaughter of kangaroos in Australia. His first blog for 2011 has just been published:

Leave the Alamogordo chimpanzees alone and return others to their safe home

Fourteen chimpanzees placed back in labs must be returned to their safe home in New Mexico. And the plan to allow another 200 or so chimpanzees to remain in the same sanctuary must be made permanent. Please begin the new year by helping these sentient beings who can’t speak for themselves but who suffer immeasurably when we don’t speak out on their behalf.
