Research interests / activities:

María is an anti-speciesist and feminist activist. She is doing her PhD dissertation (in Communication) about the lobbies and think tanks of the dairy industry, with a Critical Animal Studies focus. She is a member of the research group CritiCC (https://www.upf.edu/web/criticc), of the Centre for Animal Ethics (https://www.upf.edu/web/cae-center-for-animal-ethics), and she is also a member of the editorial assembly of the Spanish critical communication media El Salto, where she works (https://www.elsaltodiario.com/autor/maria-carreras). Her research and activism interests include critical animal studies, animal exploitation industries, interest groups, intersectionality, total liberation and feminisms.
