Research interests / activities
I am an artist and academic, working through studio, publishing and curatorial models of production. My work investigates the histories of non-human animal introductions (particularly birds) into the 'New World'. Recent research has focused on the 19th century house sparrow introductions into Brooklyn, Buenos Aires and Melbourne. The 'colonial affect' that conditioned these events is a focus of my research. An attempt at countering anthropocentrism through anthropomorphism via artistic practice is an ongoing concern.
