Research interests / activities

Elizabeth taught law at the University of Wollongong from 1997 to 2009. She introduced the subject Animal Law in 2008 which she taught until 2016. She has published extensively in this field, including book chapters and journal articles.  She is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Animal Studies Journal. Between 2009 and 2024, she was an honorary senior fellow with the University of Wollongong Law School.

Outputs

Animal Law publications include book chapters, journal articles, an animal law edition of Hot Topics for LIAC and opinion pieces for The Conversation and Policy Forum. She also used Animal Law to illustrate general issues in her first year text Principles and Practice of Australian Law (3rd ed, 2013).
Elizabeth's book Australian Animal Law: Context and Critique was published by Sydney University Press July 2022.
